Ciarán is a Chartered Engineer with over 10 years’ experience as a qualified Building Services Engineer specialising in the field of Sustainability in the Built Environment. After working for various M&E Consultants both in Ireland and the UK Ciarán had the vison to set up Passive Dynamics.

Ciarán uses the latest Building Performance Simulation Software to inform optimum solutions.

His in-depth technical knowledge in terms of conceptual energy analysis, building physics, commissioning management and green building certification provides exceptional added value to building owners, design teams and corporate clients.

Ciarán believes in listening to clients’ needs and pushing the design in terms of performance rather than just compliance. For Ciaran, it is more than just ticking the box, it is about coming up with the best sustainable design solutions. We push the boundaries but remain practical.

Eoin joined Passive Dynamics in January 2021 with expertise and has a keen interest in building energy performance. Eoin has a degree in Building Services Engineering and a Post Graduate Diploma in Energy Management from DIT. He has a wide range of experience from engineering design to site-based project management.

Eoin is a commissioning agent with Passive Dynamics and has a keen interest in building optimisiation. The commissioning agent role applies systematic method of assuring that all building systems perform according to design standards and meet the needs/desires of the owner. The end goal is to deliver a building where all the building services are operating as intended and as efficiently as possible.

Eoin believes that sustainable engineering focuses on employing strategies which reduce the environmental impact of construction in the built environment.

John joined Passive Dynamics in February 2021 as a sustainability engineer. John gained experience in sustainable design and green building rating systems whilst working with detailed energy models as part of a sustainability team prior to joining Passive Dynamics. Having completed a BEng in Building Services Engineering from Technological University Dublin in 2020, John has developed a comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within the built environment with a focus on minimising their overall energy use.

Since joining Passive Dynamics, John has broadened his skillset, delivering a wide range of sustainability services to our clients including Advanced Energy Modelling, Net Zero Carbon Analysis, Natural Ventilation/Overheating Analysis, Part L and BER Assessments and Daylight/Sunlight Analysis. John also manages projects pursuing green building certification such as LEED – ensuring that the requirements of the rating system are captured from early design stage through to the commissioning phase and final LEED certification.

He is keen to expand his knowledge in all facets of sustainability within the built environment with a particular interest in supporting project teams in designing net zero carbon buildings through the use of innovative low-energy technologies, ongoing detailed energy modelling and applying Green Engineering Solutions.

Liam joined Passive Dynamics in June 2022 as a Sustainability engineer. He had gained experience in sustainable design and green building rating systems whilst working across a variety of projects as part of a sustainability team prior to joining Passive Dynamics.

Having completed a BEng in Energy Systems Engineering from ITT (now Technology University of Dublin) in 2017, Liam has developed a comprehensive knowledge of the built environment with a focus on Reduction of energy use and carbon emissions through thermal modelling of building performance and development of energy strategies to ensure Low Carbon Design is and the key driver in the industry.

Since joining Passive Dynamics, Liam has developed his skillsets in the areas of passive design strategies and Low zero carbon feasibility studies to inform the design performance targets of clients, delivering a wide range of sustainability services to our clients including Thermal Load analysis, TGD Part L / NZEB Compliance assessments, Overheating Risk assessments and mitigation strategies, Daylight Sunlight and Shadow Impact analysis, Visual comfort analysis, Non-Domestic BER assessment and LEED certification across several different project types.

As part of his role Liam manages projects pursuing green building certification such as LEED – ensuring that the requirements of the rating system are captured from inception through to handover and final LEED certification.

He is keen to broaden his knowledge base in the ever expanding and crucial area of Sustainability in the built environment. Liam gets huge satisfaction in delivering sustainable solutions in today’s construction industry.

David Devlin

David joined Passive Dynamics in August 2022 with four years previous experience in the HVAC industry. He holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering graduating from ITT (now Technology University of Dublin) in 2016.

In his previous experience he worked on Heat Pump and VRF specification in domestic and commercial applications. He holds a firm understanding of HVAC systems, SR50 calculations and sign off, part L compliance and collective heating solutions.

Since joining Passive Dynamics David has developed his skillset further in domestic and non-domestic BER assessments as well as CIBSE TM52 and TM59 overheating analysis.

He is keen to expand his knowledge in all aspects of Sustainability Engineering, Green Building Certification and Energy Modelling.

He brings unparalleled architectural insight to our team and clients. His profound understanding of Building Physics and Energy Modelling, combined with his architectural background, equips us with a unique perspective that enhances our holistic approach to sustainability consulting. By moving beyond traditional checklists, Adrián helps us innovate and set new sustainability benchmarks within the built environment.

Since stepping into his role as a Sustainability Consultant in 2023, Adrián has made significant strides in advancing our sustainability goals.

His blend of architectural and energy modelling knowledge enables targeted sustainability enhancements. This method not only improves our client outcomes but also merges design with energy strategies for superior sustainable solutions.

Luke joined Passive Dynamics in July 2021 as a Sustainability Engineer. Having completed a BEng within the Built Environment from Technological University Dublin in 2020.

Since joining, Luke’s focus has been using IES VE to work on daylight studies, overheating modelling and Building Compliance. In recent months Luke has 

begun working on many LEED jobs and is currently working towards becoming a LEED GA.

He is keen to expand his knowledge in the wider areas of sustainability and hopes to continue learning about renewable technologies and their applications in building services.

Marty Allgeier

Marty joined Passive Dynamics in March 2022 as an energy engineer with a focus on advanced sustainable energy modelling. As a certified Domestic BER assessor, he is skilled at surveying existing residences and identifying the most effective measures for reducing operational energy consumption. In his previous role as a project consultant, he used the IES VE to perform sunlight and daylight analysis for a wide range of Irish building projects, working with clients, architects, and engineers to optimize internal and external lighting conditions for new constructions.

Since joining Passive Dynamics, he has expanded his skillset to include overheating mitigation as guided by BREEAM HEA 04, CIBSE TM52, and CIBSE TM59, earning certification through the Elmhurst Overheating Competency Scheme. He is proficient in both the IES VE and Designbuilder, utilizing the strengths of each software to efficiently analyse building performance. He is keen to expand his advanced energy modelling experience with the goal of becoming a LEED Accredited Professional for Building Design + Construction.

Marty holds a BSc (High Honors) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
